CHARLES ECKARDT Obituary
CHARLES R. SR., of Rydal, formerly of East Oak Lane, died suddenly February 5, 2011 at age 80 after a long illness. Born April 25, 1930 in Philadelphia. Beloved wife Rose D. Eckardt (Flood), Father of Catherine Lynn Eckardt, Charles R. Eckardt Jr. (Pam), M. Patricia Carbone (Paul), Ellen Boyce (Glenn), Elizabeth Schilling, Regina Burton (Deray) and Mark Eckardt (Angela) and Rosetta Chiavacci.
Survived by his sister, Sister Mary Ellen Eckardt I.H.M. and
9 grandchildren, John, Christy and Michelle Boyce, Catherine and Paul Carbone, Jamie and Samantha Eckardt, Julie Schilling, and Ally Eckardt. Uncle of Joseph Flood (Paula) and Tracy Evens (Clifford). Charlie was a leading agent with New York Life Insurance Co. for 50 years. Proudly, he served as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. He loved golf and was a longtime member of the Old York Road Country Club. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Charlie's Life Celebration on Tuesday evening after 7 P.M. at JOHN F. GIVNISH OF ACADEMY RD., 10975 Academy Rd., Phila. and are invited on Wednesday, at 9:30 A.M. to St. Hilary of Poitiers Roman Catholic Church, 820 Susquehanna Rd, Rydal. PA 19046 and to participate in his Funeral Mass 11 A.M. Interment Lawnview Cemetery. Donations to St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church or The Lung Center at University of Pennsylvania c/o Harold Palevsky, M.D., 39th and Market Sts., Phila. PA 19104.

My deepest sympathy in regards to the passing of your Father!
I still picture in my head your mother Rose and your Dad living in Sewell. They were both my dearest friends. I have the fondest memories of their friendship in Sewell N.J.. They stood as God parents by proxy for my son Philippe's baptism in 1960.I also remember well Cathy as she is in our family home movies.
