Charles Gilman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 24 to Mar. 25, 2010.
GILMAN, Charles Edwin "Chuck" (Age 63) Charles was born on May 3, 1946 in Spokane, WA and passed away on March 21, 2010 in Spokane Valley, WA. He lived in Spokane his entire life, was a member of Central Lutheran Church and graduated from Wilson Grade School, Sacajawea and Spokane Continuation High School. Chuck's life was not an easy one, having lived with severe epilepsy since childhood. In spite of his severe disability, he had a great sense of humor and love for people, especially children, and did not complain. Chuck is survived by his sister Anne Hedge and her husband David of Colbert, WA; niece Katharine Cuttone and her husband Mike of Fresno, CA; nephew Alan Hedge of Seattle; great-niece Ariana and great-nephew Austin Cuttone of Fresno; and great-nephews Harrison and Edison Hedge ofSpokane. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laila and Clarence "Gil" Gilman, and his grandparents. The family thanks longtime friends for their support, the many medical personnel who have provided care and assistance over these many years dealing with his epilepsy and recent cancer, as well as the staff at Sunshine Gardens who have been "family" for 18 years. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM on Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, with Rev. Gail Duba officiating. Memorial donations in Chuck's memory may be sent to American Epilepsy Society, 342 N. Main St., West Hartford, CT 06117-2507; Sunshine Gardens Resident Memorial Fund, 10410 E. Ninth Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99206; Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard, Spokane, WA 99204; or to a charity of one's choice. www.hazenjaeger.net
