Charles "Katfish" Grame

Born April 8th, 1945, to John C. and Gladys I. (Kinnett) Grame in Topeka, KS. He found his peace on January 27th, 2023. Charles worked for Harold Anderson at Novelty Exposition Shows from 1969 until 1980 when he left to work for his friends Howard and Shari Spencer at Spencer's Rides and Concessions. He would work for the Spencer's until they closed in 1999. Their friendship would continue until Charles' passing.

Charles had a love for life, for fishing and a cold beer. He enjoyed being on the road working on the carnival and traveling to the small towns of Kansas and Missouri. He spent the winter months working for his brother Robert delivering the KC Star and later for Lonnie Petersen as a maintenance worker for rental houses.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Gloria Jean Grame, his brothers John Wm. and Robert Grame and sister Neva Batcheller, niece Debbie Batcheller and nephew Michael Stattelman, stepson Norman Myers, and grandson Tyler Crouse.

Survivors include his siblings, Roberta Buchholz, Velma Stattelman, Ella Johnson and Francis Grame and half brother Neil Grame. Charles' children, Amanda Grame, Chrystal Hewitt (Mike), Chelsea Grame, stepchildren Tammy Crouse (Joshua), Amy Moon, and Donnie Myers. Many nieces, nephews, grand children and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on February 25th at 11:00 am at Highland Heights Christian Church, 2930 SE Tecumseh Rd, Tecumseh, KS. 66542. A private ceremony to inter his ashes is planned for a later date.
