CHARLES ANTHONY GREEN JR. was born on January 26, 1958, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He was the only son of the late Charles Sr. and his mother Cora Lee Green and they resided in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This past week, God called for Charles Jr. to come home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Charles Jr. attended George Washington Carver Elementary School and Dobbins Vocational High School. He would often laugh, sharing the stories of his high school days where he was on the fencing team. Charles Jr. graduated from Dobbins receiving his diploma in the year of 1976. Charles Jr. and Marion Reed had one son together, Charles Anthony Green III in the year of 1978. Charles Jr. married Roberta Byard on June 24, 1989 and they had one daughter, Alicia Green in the year 1990. Charles Jr. worked for ACME Markets in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia for 36 years and worked part-time at University of Pennsylvania for 13 years. He was a dedicated and loyal employee who shared lots of laughs and stories with his fellow co-workers. Charles Jr. was a member of Master Mason-Prince Hall Fraternal Organization Herbert E. Miller Prince Hall Lodge #151. He would often attend the annual Sweethearts Ball held by the organization with his wife, Roberta. He had many memories he shared with the brotherhood and was proud to be a Mason, as much of his memorable and awards would be hung throughout the family home. Charles Jr. enjoyed watching his favorite television shows such as Law in Order, 48 Hour Crimes, and the history channel documentaries. He loved to listen to music such as oldies, jazz, and house music and had a very large musical selection. He enjoyed going to watch the fraternity/sorority step-shows with his daughter held at the University of Penn campus, as he enjoyed watching the college students perform. Charles Jr. favorite meal of the day would be breakfast and would often enjoy meals at his favorite local breakfast restaurants such as Yock's, which was located at 57th and Chestnut Streets in West Philadelphia. He would often enjoyed playing Wii games with his son and his grandchildren, sharing lots of laughs, spending quality time, and creating lasting memories none of them would forget. He is survived by: his wife, Roberta; his son, Charles Anthony Green III; his daughter, Alicia; his mother, Cora; three granddaughters, Tianna, Charlese, and Kyra; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
