OBITUARY CHARLES MILTON GREENE Milton Greene, Fredericton, NB, passed away on June 23, 2008 in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Montreal, Quebec. He is survived by his parents, Marion (Jewell) and John Greene, Brossard. His wife Carol Borden, Fredericton, NB, step-daughter, Julia (Ken) Looney, Crestview, Florida, step-son, Jeff (Vanessa) Howe, Chilliwack, BC, sisters Marilyn Clusiau, Edmonton, AB, Carol (Carlton) Hall, Surrey, BC, and Peggy (Carmelo) Sgro, Brossard, QC., brothers Cyril (Barbara), Cornwall, ON, and John, Brossard, QC, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and four step-grandchildren whom he truly loved. Milton was a member of the New Maryland United Baptist Church, Nasonworth, where he also was a member of the choir and praise team. He served on various committees in the church. He also was a member of the Stepping Stone Singers, and of the Board of Directors. His church involvement was his passion. Milton was also active in the New Brunswick Liberal Party, both Provincial and Federal. He was born in New Glasgow, NS and grew up in Montreal where he was very active in sports and went on to play professional football for the Hamilton Tiger Cats, the Ottawa Rough Riders, and spent his last (hurting) year with the Detroit Lions. Milton was an entrepreneur and was well known throughout the Montreal area. He lived with his wife Carol in Fredericton since 1996, returning to Montreal in August 2007 to receive Cancer treatment. During which time he was made an honorary member of the Union United Church Men's Choir. You may pay your respects to the family on Thursday, June 26 from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Feron's Funeral Home, 2630 Notre-Dame West. The funeral service will be held at the Union United Church, 3007 Delisle St., Montreal on Friday, June 27 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St-Mary's Hospital Foundation for the Cancer Care Department.
