Charles Hendry Obituary
Tallahassee - Charles Walter "Bud" Hendry Jr. was born April 3, 1925 in Fort Myers, Florida and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 in Tallahassee, Florida.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII with service in Italy. Bud graduated from Florida State University in 1951 with a Master of Science degree in geology and worked for the State of Florida until his retirement in 1988.
He was married to Patricia M. Hendry for 55 ½ years who predeceased him in 2007. Bud is survived by his daughter, Sarah Pauline Hendry of Jonesboro, TN and his son, Charles Walter Hendry III of Sanibel, FL (Janet Strickland), his sister-in-law, Beth Merrell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee with Brant Copeland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Minister's Discretionary Fund of First Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee.

Bud was the first geologist I met when I arrived in Tallahassee in early 1973. As a geologist myself Bud and I worked on many topics of geologic interest in Florida.
I think of him often and fondly for his humor and collegial manner.
