Maryville - Charles Patton "Charlie" Hill, age 75 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Charlie was retired from Alcoa after 40 years of service and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Mountain View Methodist Church and was a member of the NRA. Charlie loved to spend time with his family and enjoying the local mountains and lakes, especially fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Heyward and Julia Hill and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.W. and Edith Smith; Survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Sandra Kay Hill; daughter and fiancé, Patti Hill and Jim Grimes of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Charles P. Hill II and Tara Hill of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kelsey Riggs (Cody), Charles P. Hill III (Amber), and Kaitlyn Hill, all of Maryville; great-granddaughter, Aria Jane Riggs; brother, Sonny Hill of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David Metler of Knoxville; many nieces, nephews and other family also. The family will receive friends Monday, July 14, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the Smith Trinity Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with rev. Buddy Hunt officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 5315 Kingston Pike Knoxville, Tennessee for the interment service and burial. Memorial donations may be made in Charlie's name to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org .
