Eva L. Cornelius, 91, of Chambersburg and formerly of Three Springs, passed away March 13, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born May 4, 1921, in Dublin Mills, to Martin and Violet (Russell) Grissinger. She was the widow of the late Fred Cornelius, who died in 1987. Eva attended the Greenvillage Church of God. She was a member of the Mount Union Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She had worked at Sagner Clothing Manufacturing until their closing and had owned and operated the Southern Huntingdon Curio Shop in Three Springs. She loved watching her birds in her birdbath, tending her flowers and attending social functions at Cottage Greens. She is survived by her three daughters: Patricia Rankin of Chambersburg, Linda (wife of Carl) Creswell of Chambersburg, and Maxine (wife of Wayne) Wright of Cassville. She has eight grandchildren: Gene Rankin, Fred Rankin, Michelle Mills, Greg Creswell, Penne Covert, Nicholas Creswell, Connie Tomallo, and Mark Wright. She has thirteen great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandsons and three step-great-great-grandsons. She is also survived by two sisters: Mary Knepper of McConnellsburg and Betty Lane of Cleves, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Stout, son-in-law, Marvin Rankin, three sisters, Bertha Curfman, Clara Group, Grace Grissinger and a brother, Allen Grissinger. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. with Pastor Matt Tosten officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Three Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17202. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, will be handling the arrangements.
