Charles Stanley Lapham

LAPHAM, Charles Stanley September 19, 1910 to January 3, 2010 Stan passed away after a long healthy life. At age 3, he immigrated from England to North Kamloops, then moved to Ocean Falls, Kamloops, Nanaimo and Vancouver. He lived through the Great Depression, served in the Canadian Naval Reserve in Victoria and Halifax and worked for the BC Power Commission and BC Hydro. Stan and his wife Gwen traveled to over 35 countries including Afghanistan where he lived for 2 years helping them build their power company. He was an active member of the Dunbar Lapidary Club, enjoyed gardening, bridge, faceting gemstones and time with family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Gwen in 2001. Stan will be remembered by his daughters Claire Belzer, Avis Lapham (Tom Tarr) and son Lorne Lapham (Jenny) and grandchildren, Heather and Amber Belzer and Arianna and Jerrod Lapham. A reception is being held to honor Stan's life at Augustine House, 3820 Arthur Drive in Ladner on Saturday, January 16th from 1 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Wildlife Fund.
