Charles LaRosa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 14, 2019.

Charles J. LaRosa, "Charlie", 73, of Scotch Plains, formerly of Roselle Park, was embraced by God on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scotch Plains at 10am followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.

He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Victor and Mary LaRosa. Charlie lived in Roselle Park during his teenage years before he met his wife Theresa, and moved to Scotch Plains to raise their family in 1972. Charlie was self-employed and sold medical supplies and police uniforms for over 10yrs, before retiring in 2000.

He was a man who loved his family and friends unconditionally. Charlie loved to bust chops, make people laugh, and was always the life of the party. You could always stop by to see "Charlie Wheelz" on the thinking porch for a friendly conversation, even when he wasn't feeling his best. Charlie was a fighter (who fought for a decade) who always said "I was and I am an athlete and I am capable of overcoming every battle. Brooklyn strong." He enjoyed playing video poker and other games on his iPad. He enjoyed old TV shows especially western's, he was an avid football fan. His family would joke that he was a , "Bandwagon Fan", so he seemed to always have a winning team. Charlie enjoyed listening and dancing to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons with his loving wife Theresa.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 49yrs Theresa; his two sons and daughters in-law Victor (Jill) and Dominic (Jaime); his daughter and son in-law Tessa Principe (Ron); his three grandchildren Alexa, Sofia, and Thomas Principe; his brother Victor (Candie); his sister-in-law Marge, his nieces and nephews Gina (Alex), Andrea (Jason) and Tony (Amy), Nick (Saina), Victor Jr. Ryan, Michael; his great nieces and nephews Nick, Joseph, Eva, Joanna, and David.
