Charles "Chick" Marchand, 56, of Newell, entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, with his loving family at his side. He was born July 29, 1948, in Brownsville, the son of the late Clyde S. and Margaret Smalko Marchand. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, and employed by Flexsys America of Monongahela. Surviving are his wife Charla Musar Marchand; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian and Katie Marchand of Bethel Park, and Christopher Marchand, at home; a daughter, Michele Marchand of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Cora, Samuel and Lily Marchand; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Boyle of Perryopolis, and Barbara and Edward Zwolak of White Oak. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, April 16, until 10 a.m., when a blessing service will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Fr. Ronald Cyktor as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation (512-236-8820, ext. 185).
