Charles Henry Miller age 90, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy Baird (Aiken) Miller and will be missed dearly by his loving family. Charles was born December 24, 1927 in Baltimore, MD and is the son of Henry Conrad and Marie Augusta (Wieskittel) Miller.

Charles graduated from Baltimore City College, class of 1945. After attending Johns Hopkins University, he enlisted in the US Army, serving in Korea with the 31st Infantry regiment, 7th Infantry Division at the end of World War II. After discharge, he enrolled at the University of Maryland, College Park. In the summer of 1950 at the start of the Korean War, he was recalled to duty and sent to Korea in December 1950. After returning to UMCP, he completed his studies and graduated with First Honors with a degree in Business Administration. On February 7, 1953 Nancy Baird Aiken and he were married in the New York Ave. Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC.

American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) hired Miller as a student engineer and he began a 38 year career during the course of which, he was District Plant Superintendent in Connecticut; General Marketing and Area Sales Manager in New York and Public Affairs Vice President in Washington DC. Upon retirement, University of Maryland named him "Distinguished International Executive in Residence" where he taught and lectured at the Center for International Business Education and Research.

Charles sang in the choir and has served as Deacon and Elder as well as Steven Minister at the Potomac Presbyterian Church. He thoroughly enjoyed life on the eastern shore, family visits and travel, swimming in the ocean, Long Island Sound or the backyard pool and family picnics eating crabs. He most recently was editor of the Reflections literary newsletter from 7th floor residents. Also, for his 90th birthday, he requested each of his grandchildren a tee-shirt from each college and university they attended.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and his four children, Robert (Laura) Miller of Greenwich, CT, Carolyn Downie (Bruce) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Joel (Judith) Miller of Kensington, MD and Christian (Aurora) Miller of Stamford, CT; ten grandchildren Erica (Jay), Marisa, (Eamon), Matthew, Colleen (John), Kaloy, Molly, William, Lucy, Kyle, Jackson and two great grandchildren Ava and Everett.

A memorial service will held on Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Potomac Presbyterian Church, 10301 River Road, Potomac, MD followed by a gathering at Ingleside at King Farm, 701 King Farm Blvd., Rockville. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be set at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Potomac Presbyterian Church or charity of your choice.
