Charles Moss Obituary
He shared a devoted relationship with his beloved wife of 50 years Meryl Lyn Moss (nee Culver).
He is survived by his children Richard (Jean Fink), Robert (Nancy), Randy (Elaine), Marc Cohodes, Nancy Schapiro (Kenny), daughter-in-love Leslie Brush (Dennis); his grandchildren Claire Aelion-Moss , Rachel Aelion-Moss, Philip Aelion-Moss, Zoe Moss, Sara Moss, Jonny Moss, Charlie Moss, Max Cohodes, Emily Cohodes (Jeff Mandell), Jake Schapiro (Rebecca), Madeline Schapiro, and his great grandchildren, Izzy, Mari, Bennett and Clyde.
Many thanks to his great caregivers Ike, Ray and Michael.
Chuck attended Hyde Park High School (class of 1949) and the University Pennsylvania.
He had a long career as co-owner of Chicago Tire & Supply Company with his father Joseph Moss and his brother Morton Moss, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his mother Adeline, (nee Rosenberg) and sister-in-law Donna (nee Miller).
After Chicago Tire he founded Comp-U-Tire and ran it successfully for many years.
He loved traveling, visiting 80 countries, golf, especially with his sons, photography, fine dining, and anything that involved spending time with his beloved Meryl Lyn.
Graveside service Friday 10AM at Rosehill Cemetery (Section W.), 5800 N. Ravenswood Ave, Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dr. Jayesh Mehta Research Fund at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, c/o Terri Dillon, 420 E. Condolences, and best personal regards, to Meryl Lyn. Just learned of Charlie's death. Very sad news. We had our battles, but he was a man of the highest character.

This gentleman looks familiar from attending class reunions for HP with my husband Larry Dellefield `49 who passed in 2023. This group had the best reunions and attendance was always high because of lasting friendships. My sympathy to this loving family. Marcia Dellefield
