Just learned of Charlie´s passing on Sunday. I would come to the shop at Auto Assets , on Tuesdays and Saturdays for many many weeks to help in anyway I could to move this project along. We were good friends . The pickup came out of the in very late June of 1996 and was towed to a show where like many of his automotive works of art , took Best of Show. I kind of lost touch as his automotive excellence and fame followed him to his new shop at CSN Motorsport.
He was a great people person, his temperament, humor and artistry will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Charlie!

Charlie and I meant around 1980 and worked on many cars together, always looking out for each other. I think he was born with that smile. He had skills that were over the top,a real artist. We normally talked about every thing but cars .He was a dear friend and will be greatly missed. Elaine was number one to him ,bussiness number two.

I never thought I´d be writing about what Charlie meant to me. When I last spoke to him we laughed and picked up like no time had passed. It had been months. I´d called him to ask if he remembered a colleague. He was so well regarded in his field that everything I ever heard about him regarding his work ethic and quality was glowingly positive. He always told me about the cars he was working on-half of which were so far out of my league that I didn´t even understand their significance. I don´t know of anything he loved more than his work...except his wife. They would visit this lowly car salesman when in the area bearing warm unsolicited coffees. We would talk cars and his knowledge was genuinely unique. I hope he´s in a better place having more great conversations.

Charlie will be missed, there are very few people who I have met that have such positive energy and can make me laugh each time we talk. I would usually catch up with him on Saturday mornings at the office and enjoy coffee and always have an interesting conversation. He was always looking out for my best interest as well.

Charlie was a customer of ours who would stop in just to shoot the breeze while letting his wife shop. He always had something to say and loved to look at my cars and a bikes, taking the time to offer suggestions or tell a story or two. I'll miss him for sure.

Charlie has a special place in heaven and had a heart of gold.
I had the good fortune to know Charlie for the last seven years, but he made me feel like we had been best friends forever. Charlie was the best at everything he did and would have done anything for anybody.
Every time I brought a car to him we would end up talking for an hour about every subject under the sun.
Also, we would always prank each other on the phone~ When I would call him at the shop, I would say something like "Charlie Nestor, this is Marty Cunningham with AEP, I am on my way to your shop to cut off your electric, because of non payment on your electric bill. Unless you pay now by credit card, I will be shutting off your electric within the hour".
Charlie will be greatly missed by all. He touched many lives on all levels and there is a big void without him. Charlie was a very special friend and I was fortunate to have known him. I will be keeping The Nestor family in my prayers.
With Love,

Loved spending time years ago with Charlie when I lived in Columbus. Went into his shop from time to time to talk about cars and life. Everyone around him knew how special he was in terms of integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and dedication. Charlie also had a great sense of humor and compassion. We all loved him and he will be missed.

Charlie was a very special friend. He was so talented in so many areas. Whenever I had a question he was never to busy to take time to talk to me and share some Great Stories. He was so talented, he will be missed by so many. I will always remember his fun personality and laughter. As many will say Charlie is a Legend and brought so much joy to so many people. Bob Cassel

Met Charlie back in the mid-90's when he was working at Auto Assets to get an estimate on my 1995 LWB Range Rover. My boss and fellow automobile afficianado, Jack Ruscilli, told me that "Charlie Nestor is the best - take it to him". During my initial conversation with Charlie, I knew right away why he came so highly recommended: Stand-up guy, was honest about the damage on my automobile, and told me he would fix it right. "Don't worry about it - I can help you with the insurance guys and I know everyone over at MAG." We became instant friends, and later on, I was always impressed that he broke out on his own and did things "his way". CSN Motorsports was his pride and joy, and I always enjoyed stopping over near the end of the day and talking with him for a few hours after he shut the doors. A class act - never compromised on quality - on what he did in his work as well as the way he lived life! We will all miss him and his welcoming smile - a great example for All of Us!!!
The photo below was taken behind CSN with Charlie and I BS'ing about cars!!! (Go figure!) Your work is done down here, Brother. RIP - Mark Lybrook.

I will always appreciate Charlie going out of his way to help me with my car and motorcycle, but what I'll miss the most is just hanging out and listening to him tell stories. There seemed to be an endless supply of them. He was a funny, generous and honorable man, and I am blessed to have known him as a friend. My heart goes out to Elaine and Sharon and his family and friends. May the Lord's love and grace bless all of you with strength, comfort and peace.

Charlie was an unbelievable talent, gifted in so many ways-whether it was bodywork, painting, mechanical work, or fabrication. Few in the automotive world possess the range of skills he had. On top of that, Charlie never forgot to send a Christmas or Thanksgiving greeting. And who could forget his infectious laugh, sense of humor, AND amazing storytelling?
For decades, I had the great honor and pleasure of calling Charlie my friend, and I will miss him terribly. Stay strong, Elaine. We are all praying for you during this difficult time. I know God has welcomed Charlie into Heaven, as He knows what a good soul Charlie was on earth. Rest in peace, Charlie.

Letter to my brother in heaven
They say there is a reason
They say time will heal
Neither time or reason will change the way I feel...
Gone are the days we used to share, but in my heart you are always there.
The gates of memories will never close;
I miss you more than anybody knows..
Love and miss you everyday
Till we meet again in heaven, I can´t wait for that day!!!!
Always and forever
Your little sis

He "took in" my 2000 Pontiac Grand AM GT after a wreck ... walked thru the shop wondering why a Grand AM with all the amazing vehicles in the bays ... but became instant friends. He was truly a legend, teacher and friend. He will be missed by many ...
Rest easy my friend.
