From all of us here in Charleston we send our deepest sympathy on the passing of Charles. We pray for healing for all of you. We were down there in November and Charlie had a bout that I was able to assist with. Although we just walked in a little circle and then he sat back down he smiled at me and said....." I don't tip" and then he chuckled and smiled. Nice to look back at that day and realize the illness did not get his sense of humor. We hope the comfort of knowing you will see him again stays with you all till you join him. Love the Charleston Gang.

Charlie is a special father, husband and friend. He will be very greatly missed by all who know him. I am especially grateful to him for being such a wonderful companion to my very best friend, Emily. They were always a unique couple. He was a gentle human being and a gentleman always. My heartfelt condolences to the whole family. Wish I could be there with you, Emily. Love, Ida Straus Gifford
