Charles R. Parsons, Jr.

November 2, 1960 - March 21, 2025

On Friday, March 21, 2025, Charles R. Parsons Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and formerly of Tobyhanna, PA, loving brother, father, Nephew, Cousin, Friend, and Corvette enthusiast, died at the age of 64 after a long battle with end stage kidney disease.

Charles was better known by other names throughout his life. When he was little, his family called him Ricky. As he grew older, he was referred to as Rick by his family and very close friends. As he grew even older, he was called Charlie by his Air Force co-workers and friends and his Federal Government co-workers, and when it was something official, it was Charles.

Rick served on active duty in the United States Air Force for over 20 years and retired from the service in June 2005. In 2006, Rick began working in the Federal Government as a Government Contractor and eventually became a full General Schedule Federal Government employee serving for over 19 years. Rick officially and fully retired on February 28, 2025.

Rick was a huge Corvette lover and owned many throughout his life. He belonged to several Corvette clubs throughout his life and frequented the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky on numerous occasions. Rick had a passion for Corvette and Formula-1 racing. He attended the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring racing event in Sebring, Florida every March for over 15 years as well as racing events at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Rick loved watching old TV shows and his favorites were The Three Stooges, The Bowery Boys, Hogan's Hero's, M*A*S*H, The Twilight Zone, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Rick was also a big and loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Mary "Shirley" Parsons, and his father, Charles R. Parsons Sr., "Charlie." He is survived by his brother, Robert F. Parsons of Miami Beach, FL, his sister, Reine M. Parsons of Jacksonville, FL, daughter, Cecilia Parsons of La Pine, OR, Aunt, Alice Naylis of Edwardsville, PA, Aunt Reiden Rupinski of Norway, Cousin, Susan M. Kopicki of Kingston, PA, Cousin Michelle Rupinski of Norway, grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. A private service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation so that one day we can find a better treatment for or a cure for polycystic/chronic kidney disease.

"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen."

Oh, Charles. I am heartbroken by your passing. I'm sorry we lost touch about 2 years ago. I was always praying for donors for you and that you'd beat this disease. You were far too young, my friend. I will forever cherish my memories of you, our working together in at PANG in Logistics, having a beer together. You are one of the best people I ever knew. Rest in Peace, Airman. Prayers for your loved ones, that they will be at peace and be comforted. Michele Strang

My heart goes out to Reine, Robert, Cecilia, and all of his family and friends, with my sincere, and deepest condolences for your tremendous loss. May God be with you. Charlie was and remained a dear friend since we met in 2009 and worked together at Tyndall AFB, Fl. I'm so heartbroken to hear of his passing. We last spoke earlier this month. He was so looking forward to enjoying retirement and moving to Florida to be near his sister and brother. He was such a beautiful light in this world. Such a good soul. I will miss you terribly, I'll miss our talks. Rest in Peace in Gods embrace, my dear, kind, wonderful friend Charlie!

I don´t know how I am going to live my life without you. You were my big brother, my friend, my protector, and my confidant. Thank you for a lifetime of beautiful memories. Thank you for letting me be your shadow when we were little. Thank you for always, including me and letting me tag along even though you made me ride in the hatch portion of the RX-7.

Thank you for all those great memories we made together as we served our country, especially when we were both on detachment for the rose parade in Oregon where you fell asleep or maybe passed out in the bed of one of The Rose parade pick up trucks but we won´t tell anybody about that.

Thank you for watching over me that one night at your friends house in Oregon when I had one too many Hefeweizen beers. I´ll never forget having to walk by that humongous fish that was on their counter, and everybody was eating out of it which totally grossed me out. Every time I watch Everybody Loves Raymond I´m going to think of you and how we watched that show together so many times and the Stooges and Abbott and Costello.

I´m hoping that you´ll help my New York Football Giants have a good season this year and I will cheer on your Tampa Bay Buccaneers from down here. Please watch over Robert Cecilia and I help us to all become better. People protect us and keep us safe. I love you big brother, rest in peace.
