Jeff Janet Patty and Jill Just recently found out about Chucks passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy with the great loss of such a great man. Chuck was always so knowledgable and willing to help and was always an icon in our hobby of gas and oil collecting. Bought many things through Chuck and he was always one to see you were happy with your purchase and went out of is way to please. My last visit with him at hearshey was a sad one as I think we both knew this would be the last handshake. My last purchases from him would include all his gas pump books and manuals with paint schemes for many vintage pumps and I think he felt good knowing they would be respected and used in my hobby for years to come. Many thanks to the family for all you did for your DAD in his final days as I am sure it was very hard for Chuck leaving a hobby that he so dearly loved . Rest in peace my friend you Truly will miss him in our hobby .

Janet & Family,
To find out that my mentor, my friend and my teacher has left us is devastating. I am truly sorry to hear of Chucks passing. Chuck taught me so many things about cars, gas pumps and life. I was happiest when Chuck and I were scrounging through the junk yard in Maricopa, AZ or searching for that correct Corvette wrench at the Phoenix flee market. His humor, his words of wisdom and his love for restoring classic cars I will never forget. I always looked forward going to Charlotte, Carlisle, and Hershey with Chuck and miss those great days. After I moved out of NY we stayed in touched and I visited Chuck whenever I came back to NY. Many times I wished I had never moved away but life had a different path for me. I will always remember the things Chuck taught me and never forget all the good times I had with him. My deepest condolences to the Pergl family. Rest in peace Chuck....

Thank you Jill in letting me know about your father. Took me some time to say something in that there is never the right words. He is a very special man. I always tell his jokes, talk of him highly. I told my kids of his passing and they remember him by the red cap he is wearing (he gave them one). I visited him for awhile but last several months before his passing I hadn't seen him. Felt bad I didn't make the time. I am truly sorry for your families loss. Enjoyed the time I had with him. Like he would say I was his hard worker. lol. I miss him and will cherish the moments you and Janet allow me to spend with him. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about "Mr. Pergl's" passing. He worked at IBM with my Dad and in our house a joke was always referred to as a "Pergl joke" I fondly remember visiting his home as a child with my Dad and brother and looking at all of his collectibles in his barn, with a warning from my Dad not to touch anything!! Also enjoyed the picnics at Cole Park. My Dad thought very highly of Mr. Pergl both as an Engineer and a friend. My heartfelt condolences to your entire family.

My deepest sympathies to the Pergl family. He was one of those bigger than life characters and his passing will leave a big void for a long time. I am most grateful for many years of joy he gave my mother and therefore he will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Jeff, Janet, Jill and Marilyn:
I am so sorry to see that Chuck passed away. He was such a spectacular man and a great friend to my parents. Besides being a friend to my parents he was also my friend. I have so many fond memories of him from the time I was a young girl to the present. From our trips to Hershey every year to our visits when he came to Lowe's and most recently seeing him at Michaelangelo's. I will miss him, his funny stories and jokes and most of all his friendship.
My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Rest In Peace Chuck. Sending you my love.

Chuck was a neighbor, but I really didn't get to know him until we met through Home Instead. I enjoyed spending time with Chuck and his family, Janet, Jill, Jeff and Patty. Every day there was some new story or lesson. I'm glad I got to spend time with Chuck and his family. Each evening after supper we would watch The Andy Griffith show and then PBS antique related shows.
