Charles Dennis Purvis, Sr.
Eatonton, GA- Charles Dennis Purvis, Sr., age 81, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. Services will be held at 2PM Sunday, January 29, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery.
Mr. Purvis was a native of Lyons, Georgia but had made his home in Milledgeville for most of his life. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College and received his BBA in Management from Georgia College. He was a retired Loan Officer with Century Bank & Trust. Mr. Purvis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis Lamar Purvis and Mary Lizzie Caldwell Purvis, and his step-mother Nell Hartley Purvis. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Sarah Bloodworth Purvis of Eatonton, two sons, Charles Purvis, Jr. (Candy) of Brookhaven and Greg Purvis (Jennifer J.) of Eatonton, two sisters, Norma Goings of Greenville, SC and Lynn Conner of Peachtree City; five grandchildren, Reed Purvis, Liam Purvis, Indi Purvis, of Eatonton, Hannah Townsend of Atlanta and Emily Townsend of Honolulu; sister-in-law Mary Purvis of Macon and brother-in-law Michael Conner of Peachtree City.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moores Funeral Home.
