Charles Arthur Rodman II

One of my earliest neighborhood memories was being at being in the Rodmans' kitchen with Diane. The family sat around the table talking and laughing. Charles had such a low voice. I think even at that young age I had a crush on him.

My first wife was one of Dr. Rodman's nurses in the OR. In 1973 on my 30th Birthday she collapsed at the end of her shift and it was soon discovered that she had a Astrocytoma Multiform that set the stage for a series of surgeries to extend her life to about 8-months. He did the best he could but it was not to be. In her last month with us, Dr. Rodman came to our home everyday to give Sharon whatever comfort that he could offer.
He was truly an Angel in disguise. I visited with him about 9-months ago when he told me about his own Multiform and I had a chance to again thank him and reassured him that I was looking forward to seeing him again on "the other side" which he completely understood. In 1970 I was an orderly in the OR at Gunderson. Dr rondman was one of the physicians who invited me into his operating room and taught me a great deal and inspired me to go into healthcare. Because of his inspiration I am just about at my 50-year mark as a respiratory therapist and a respiratory educator. I've always shared fond memories of his understanding and kindness.

Our family knew him as Dr. Rodman, a very skilled surgeon, and a unique human being.
He fulfilled his calling in Aces!
