Charles Rork Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 8, 2025.

Charles Frank "Charlie" Rork, Jr., age 80, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Palm Gardens, Florida. Born on November 12, 1944, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., Charlie led a life marked by service, dedication, and deep personal faith.

Charlie served in the United States Navy as a submariner aboard the USS James Madison. His time in the Navy instilled in him a lasting sense of discipline and patriotism that shaped his life.

After his military service, Charlie became a Master Electrician and went on to establish and operate a successful Security and Burglar Alarm Company in the Washington D.C. area. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic earned him the respect of both colleagues and clients.

A devout Christian, Charlie was an active member of his church community. He volunteered as a greeter and served on the security team-roles that reflected his welcoming nature and protective spirit.

Charlie adored his daughters Kim and Kelly and all of his grandchildren they were the light of his life.

Charlie also had a lifelong passion for automobiles. Over the years, he owned dozens of cars and took great joy in working on cars and enjoying the open road. Starting early in his childhood Charlie loved dogs. He had many generations of fur babies through the years and Tara, Dexter and Princess in particular gave him great comfort and unconditional love.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Kim Jenard, grandchildren Kylie, Sierra, Makenna, Brayden Jenard, and William Stevens; sisters Patty Rork (Michael Hart) and Cathy Rork-Gaarden (Allen); nephew Gabriel Rork Gaarden; mother of his daughters Ronnie McElwee; former Son in Law Mark Jenard; Cousins Carole Hurley, Chip Hurley, Claire Greene, Joan Debrei and cherished grand dogs and great grand dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. Rork Sr. and Eloise Hurley Rork; beloved daughter Kelly Stevens; and grandson Alex Stevens.

Charlie will be remembered as hardworking, fun-loving, and deeply devoted to those around him. His presence brought strength and joy to many lives.

Rest in peace, Charlie Boy. May your memory bring comfort to those who loved you so dearly.

We go back about 50 yrs when we all
Lived in Crofton. Used to have a super time visiting - listening to his music and having parties. He had the cleanest garage that we have ever seen. Miss those glory days. RIP

Charlie, Ronnie& the girls opened up there home to me in the 70´s when I was in town. I was totally amazed at the cockatoo they had as a pet. It could do a few tricks, but had to have his cage covered so it wouldn´t talk all night. Charlie loved his sisters Patty & Cathy and was so positive and happy to be around other people. I will surely miss him.

Charlie was one of my favorites. He always had a smile and looked at life always as glass half full. He spent many holidays at my house and was loved by my family. He loved his kids and grand children dearly and had a deep faith in God. Health problems ensued the last year of his life which he handled in the end with dignity, gratitude and a smile. He was one of a kind and will be missed

We shared our blink in time, found great friendship, created many vivid moments and memories of fun and companionship and somehow stayed out of trouble enjoying those days of wine and roses. We only get one or two steadfast friends in a lifetime. I´m glad I was one of yours. Here´s to the next time Charlie.
