I worked with Charlie at 3M and also after that. He was a nice man and I will miss talking to him. He was always a gentleman and he will be missed.

Uncle Charlie was a fantastic family member!! He came up with great group activities for our family gatherings and special events. He provided fireworks for the reunions. He was "IZ Bookie" for our family football pools. He introduced lawn darts as a competitive sport in Center Ridge. He made sausage that we all enjoyed throughout the year. And it was Uncle Charlie who suggested painting the old house in Center Ridge before the arrival of a reporter who was doing a story on the golf course at the farm. It was about a thousand degrees, yet all the adults were painting away to make the house look good. It was during that time that us kids decided swimming in the stock pond was a good idea. Leigh got an ear infection. Uncle Charlie said the way to cure that was by putting hot rocks on your ears, which started the "hot rocks" jokes that go on to this day when we all get together. I will miss him and send love to Rhonda, Sharen and Allan at this time of sadness.

I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Charlie when my Dad called Sunday with the news. I always loved knowing that he would be at one of our huge family gatherings because of his laughter. I'll never forget that sound. :) Also, he has always been our fireworks provider for all our reunions, and I must say was the best entertainer ever for the fireworks show. Laying on the hill up at the farm with all our family around watching the fireworks being shot off from the pasture are memories he helped create and I'll never forget. I'm thankful my husband and son were able to meet him several times. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Lots of hugs - Heather

Uncle Charlie had such a great smile and his laugh was infectious. All my memories of him are of good times. He could always come up with a witty remark or a funny story that would get everyone laughing. That's what I remember best about him. He was such a good man with strong faith and loved all his family deeply. Remembering your wonderful father and wishing you comfort. With much love, Diane
