Age 83, of Pine City, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Chuck was born in Elmira, the second youngest of 13 children, to the late Carl F. and Mary Evelyn (Dunn) Schiefen. In addition to his parents Chuck is predeceased by his first wife Mary Frances Schiefen; brothers, Lawrence, Buddy, Joseph and William Schiefen; sisters, Marjorie Faella, Eleanor Maron, Marie Treat, Toddy Meade, Polly Backer, Rita Landon and Helen Theresa Schiefen. Chuck is survived by wife of 33 years, Donna S. (Mowery) Schiefen; daughter Jill Schiefen of Elmira; step-son Mark Williams (Diane) of Aurora CO with their son Kyle; step-daughters, Laura Lynn Williams of Irvine CA and Diahn Senick (Jason) Laguna Beach CA with her children Taylor and Joshua Stemple; sister, Reggie Dean of Elmira; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a union electrician for Local 1249 out of Rochester NY for over 40 years. Chuck was a great family man. He and Donna liked to visit casinos and play the slot machines. Chuck was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water St. Elmira on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, to follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Chuck with a donation to CareFirst Hospice, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post NY 14870.

I worked with Chuck for many years in Rochester and other parts of New York. Chuck was a lineman's lineman who engineered a number of creative solutions to overcome project obstacles. He was also well respected by everyone associated with the job.
