Seaman, Charles

Charles (Chuck) F. Seaman, age 69, of Berlin passed away unexpectantly at his home on Monday, November 27, 2017. Chuck was born March 9, 1948 in Berlin, the son of Clarence and Stella Seaman. He was a 1966 graduate of Berlin High School. He later attended Fox Valley Technical College, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2001.

Much of Chuck's working career was spent at Wilson Hurd Manufacturing in Berlin, retiring in 2015. He also worked at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, Bethel Home in the dementia ward and Sheltered Village in Ripon. Chuck enjoyed caring for people, especially the elderly. Since his retirement from Wilson Hurd, he had worked part time at Walmart, where he enjoyed assisting customers.

In his free time, Chuck enjoyed fishing and gardening and was happy to share his bounty with others. People knew Chuck was coming when they heard the honking horn of his moped or truck. He always made time to converse with people whether friends or strangers.

Chuck was a faithful member of All Saints Parish, Berlin, serving as an usher, communion minister, song leader and volunteer for church events. He also served in the National Guard for a number of years and was a long time member of the American Legion.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Luke; daughter in law, Rizza and three grandchildren, Orion, Kaden and Althea. He is further survived by one brother, Bill: one sister in law, Diane; one brother in law, Martin Barnard and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerome and three sisters Beatrice, Sister Mary Jude and Sister Mary Ruth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin with Father David Greenfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Saint Michael Catholic Cemetery of Berlin.

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Mary lou and family during this time of grief with the sudden death of a wonderful, kind man..."Chuckie" as I always knew him. Throughout the years of a chance meet up...I would always walk away with a smile on my face. Always blessed with his wit..and positive attitude!
His life of service and Love of God was a life he was taught by his parents and family...who I'm sure welcomed at the gates of Heaven!
May God Bless you all during this difficult time.

I remember Chuck as ALWAYS being in a great mood. All four years of high school, whenever I met up with him at a class reunion or a chance meeting in Berlin, always a great mood. Always friendly and glad to talk. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and especially the kids from the class of 1966.

Cannot believe he's gone. When we were little kids he would give us a ride to the sand pit in the old ford. That was before it was restored of course. He always made you smile and was the life of the party. We were looking forward to seeing him at the church during the holidays. He was a wonderful loving man and will not be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to you during this difficult time. Hugs being sent your way. Love you.
