To The Stenvig Family,
I am sorry to learn of your Father's recent passing. I remember him as a very vibrant man and close friend of my Parents while I grew up in MN. He was well respected in the community for his service both in the Police force & as Mayor. Although I have not seen many of you for several years, please know my thoughts & prayers are with you during a difficult time.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven, A time to be born, And a time to die.
Love, Kari (Johnson Donahue)

Chuck and my dad were partners for several years on the police department. When my parents would visit, we'd have your dad over. Both my dad and Chuck always said each other was the best partner they'd had on the force. I would see your dad a lot around Sun City, but hadn't talked to him since my father passed away. Your dad will be missed. Judie VanDevere

Chuck was a year or two ahead of me at Roosevelt HS. The football practice field was near Lake Hiawatha where we ran our Cross Country training. One lap around the lake was normal. Chuck often took a break from football to run around the lake with us. I believe he was the city champion in golf. And I believe he also attended Augsburg College. The President at Augsburg was Dr. Stensvaag, so guess what we called Chuck, "Chuck Stensvaag"
He attended our 60th class reunion in 2008.

You do not know me, but I admired Mr Stenvig so much as mayor of Mpls that one of my friends nicknamed me Charlie. He called me that all these years till his passing 2 yrs ago. How I long for people of his character to be in public office again. My sympathy to you all.

I just returned home from the Pentagon to learn about Charlie's passing. When I was elected to the City Council he was the Mayor and was my mentor and friend. I learned much from him and our political ideas were very similar. He lived in my ward and we became close friends and allies. He was a giant in the shaping of our city and will be missed by all who knew the good looking man with the white hair and big smile. This is a sad day.

With deepest sympathy...I worked with your dad for 4-1/2 years as his personal assistant, body guard, and driver. We had a lot of fun times and your dad was always concerned about me and my family. I told many people about his integrity and honesty. I remember driving you kids around in the "Limo" which was always fun. You guys were always nice and respectful to me and I enjoyed talking to you as you were about the same age as my children. God Bless you all

Mr. Stenvig played Tennis with my father William Storie. My father had a great time with Charlie.
When my father passed away I called Mr. Stenvig to let him know.
He was kind to me. I will not forget his friendship with my father.

With my deepest sympathy......your dad was one of the finest men I've had the privilege of ever knowing. He deeply believed in his work, had the utmost integrity, and was a man of his word. His accomplishments politically are legendary. I will miss him.
