Knoxville - Charles Lee Summers, born in Morgantown, WV, April 4, 1947, went to be with Jesus and the love of his life, Shirley, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He is preceded in death by wife, Shirley; parents, Walter and Dorothy Summers; brother, Harold Summers; and son-in-law, John Cannon. He is survived by his brother, Raymond Summers; son, Nathanael (Melissa) Summers; daughter Tabitha Cannon; grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremiah (Cheyenne) and Breanna Cannon, Tessa (Nate) Nolan, Emily (Joel) Clabough; great grandchildren, Elija, Grace, Samuel, Preston, Bryson, Mila; and several nieces and nephews. Charles served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter by trade and installed flooring for many years. He was an elder and long-time member of First Apostolic Church, Knoxville. Charles baptized hundreds of souls in the name of Jesus and visited countless people in the hospital and prayed for the sick. He spent the last 5 years at Ben Atchley State Veteran's Home where he handed out "his papers" faithfully and never met a stranger. He will miss his buddy, TJ. We would like to thank the staff of Ben Atchley TSVH and Smoky Mountain Hospice (Juliana) for their kindness over the years and concern during the last several months. Receiving of family and friends will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at First Apostolic Church, Knoxville, TN, 5:00pm - 7:30pm; service immediately following at 7:30pm with Bishop Billy McCool and Pastor Mark McCool officiating.
