Charles Lucius Tennille was born September 17, 1960, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Charles & Barbara Johnson Tennille. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1978, and earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Auburn University. Charlie retired from the Social Security Administration as the North Florida Acting Area Director. He was Baptist by faith.

Charlie was a loyal friend, a true gentleman, and a very traditional family man. He always chose the high road and did what was right because it was right. Many of these traits he credited to "being raised at Bainbridge Country Club" by his dad's friends. It was inevitable he loved hitting golf balls with all that influence.

Charlie's personality was contagious and everyone he met felt like an old friend. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining; family and friends could hardly wait if fish or tenderloin were on the menu. Music, whether playing guitar or listening to an album from his extensive collection, soothed his soul. Of course nothing riled Charlie up more than "War Eagle" as he cheered on his beloved Auburn Tigers.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Kathleen "Elf" Tennille; his son, Dean Tennille (Krysten) of Covington, LA; his granddaughter, Colette; his sister, Claudia Tennille Hutchins (Keith); his nieces, Katherine (Zach) & Abbie (Bennett); and his great-nieces, Evelyn & Leighton. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by canine companion, Stella.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
