Uncle Chuck, I close my eyes and can hear that devious laugh, I have so many wonderful memories from my years in Tarkio with you and Aunt Sarah. Good times, Bad times, Bean Pies and Your Famous Steaks. So many stories you had to share, lifes little truths told in your own special way and the many words of wisdom. Blunt and to the point, You never minced a word, but you knew what you were talking about. Thanks for the advice, the support, the encouragement and most of all the hard truths, even when It wasn't what I wanted to hear.The last years of your life were a stuggle for you but its over now. Rest easy, peace is yours at last. Ill always remember the sparkle in those peircing eyes, the take me as I am or get out of my way spirit, and yes, most of all, your infectious laugh...Always, Nephew

What do you say to ease the pain of a loss like this? It is always best to look back on all the good times, and the great memories that you share! I know that I will NEVER forget all my memories that I had of you Chuck! I will never forget all the times you talked me and Sarah to go fishing with you eventhough we really didn't want to! And all that food!! You could never go to Chuck and Sarah's and starve; it was your own fault if you did!!! Chuck you will be greatly missed! Love you always, Samantha Henry

Now that your "Tour of Duty" has ended on Earth,
There will be no more suffering and pain;

Chuck! What great memories I have of you and Sara when we first met you back in 1999 in Tarkio! What a wonderful friend. I always enjoyed our visits, and listening to your military stories. I remember all the meals you cooked for all of us who would come over and vist, and there was always enough for anyone who popped in. One of my fondest memories is when you made head cheese and it had pigs hair in it and was not all that good, but I did not have the heart to tell you it had hair in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But we ate it anyways! Thanks for showing me how to cut up a deer. That is a memory I will cherish forever, you and I working together cutting it and griding it with beef fat. Thanks for looking out for our children and you and sara "baby sat" our kids when we needed someone to take care of them, or a safe place to run to. You will always be remembered for your kindness to everyone.
Ever run for Tarkio Mayor?????? You would have made a good one. Our thoughts will always be with you. Love you sara. So sorry to lose Chuck, Doc, Charlie.

Dad Thomason, Thinking back of the time I visited you and your wife, Lucy and her family for the first time, I rembemer the welcome and hospitality I felt from the very first introductions. I am sure it was because of your daughter Micky for the most part for she new that family and friends even newly gained friends are important and need to have that feeling of acceptance and she new her family was just that type of family without judgement or prediduces. I want to thank you for spending that one on one time with me and especially the nice gift (the knife) you gave to me and even a knife for my son that collects them. I will always have those memories of a kind and thoughtful soul, now I know how your daughter comes by that naturally. I am so looking forward to the next time we meet again. In the presence of God, and Jesus and to enjoy again each others company.
Your missed here in my heart but not forgotten, see you soon.

Uncle Chuck:
Growing up, my uncles couldn't even come close to you. As a grown woman, you were like my real blood uncle and you treated me with respect. For that I thank you, because no one has ever showed such kindness, tenderness,and love the way you did. I am so glad that me, my mother Esther and my son Michael got to know you. Take care and we will see you later. I LOVE U

You will be sadly missed by us Uncle Chuck. I wish you could have met my Husband Larry, but maybe you can see him from Heaven where I know that you are. I also wish you could have seen all of my boys. I would have loved to have taken them fishing with you even if we would have had to wheel you out there in a wheelchair. You enjoy that great big fishing hole in Heaven. Ha! Ha!

"The True Measure of a Man"
You gave it your best, you it gave your all.
As you fought for your country you stood up tall.
You stood up and said I'll do all that I can.
With courage and faith your were the true measure of a man.
Uncle Chuck;
Thank you for all that you did for us.Thank for the years of service to our Great Country, You showed all of us that when all was said and done you stood as an example of what the truest measure of an Honorable, Brave and Loyal Man was. You will forever be missed in my Household and by my immediate Family. Most of all you will be greatly missed by me. I was always so proud of you and I loved you so much. You were, and even though you are gone, always will be one of the best Uncles I ever had. Uncle Kenny was the other one. Hope you don't mind sharing the spotlight. Ha! Ha! I also know that you are difinately sitting in heaven with our Heavenly Father because you surely spent your time in Hell several times.
Love, Richard Dunlap

Uncle Chuck you were and also be my Uncle and my shipmate. We shared many a sea story and sailor's jokes. I will never forget how proud of me you were that I made chief (CPO-USN). Also that you took time to call and keep in touch with me. No matter what the distance between us. Fair Winds & Following Seas. Till we sail together again.

Just about every memory I have of Uncle Chuck is accompanied by a smile and gentle laughter. He never let any of us take ourselves too seriously; his humor always lent a reality-check and kept things in perspective. And yet, underneath that was an undeniable sensitivity. That's a beautiful balance, a valuable lesson and a wonderful legacy. I'm thankful for that example and influence. Sincerely With Much Love,

Grandpa...where do I even begin! I can't even put into words all of the wonderful memories I have with you and ones I get to pass on to Jackson. You were the most amazing grandpa any girl could ask for. I miss you more than you can probably imagine, but you will always be with me in my heart. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about you and that will never change. I love you so much. You taught me so many things. I hope that someday I can share the same bond with my grandchildren as you did with me. I'll always be your Bear. I can't wait until the day I get to see you again.

You were my rock when we lost Bobby. You were there for me any time I needed to talk or cry.
I love you and will miss you so much.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
