Charles Edward Wheat, 58, of West Terre Haute, passed away on Father's Day - Sunday, June 18, 2017, from pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 22, 1959, in Clinton, to Thomas Edward and Janice Tharlane (Edwards) Wheat of Shepardsville.

Chuck is survived by his significant other, Tammy Alsman; his loving parents; three daughters, Michelle McDonald (Jim), Sarah Wheat (Matt Theil), and Alexis Wheat, all of Terre Haute; ; his sister, Paula Harden (Wes) of Terre Haute; brother, Thomas Wheat (Michelle) of Shepardsville; grandchildren who were the light of his life: Payton McCullough, Jimmy and Jackson McDonald, Hunter and Dillon Theil, and Adalynn Sweatt; nieces and nephews, Hannah Harden, Justin Wheat (Ashley), Garrett Wheat (Allie), Rylan and Reese Wheat, and one on the way, Oliver Wheat; and last, but not least, his beloved dog, Sis.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mildred Wheat, Logan and Hazel Edwards; and aunts and uncles, Fred and Mary Edwards, Robert Edwards, and Daniel Smith.

Chuck was a member of IBEW Local 725 and was the Vice President of the Midwest Division of Sargent Electric, which he devoted his life to since 1988.

Chuck loved life on The River with family and friends, and his yearly fishing trips to the Lake of the Ozarks with the guys - a tradition since 1995.

Chuck was a kind, giving man and will be missed by many.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, July 1, 2017, starting at 2 p.m. at The River, 1004 West Fairview Ave., West Terre Haute. Please come share in our memories. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at:

Loving thoughts and prayers to all of Chucks family, friends and co-workers. Chuck was a Great man to work for and to get to know. he was fair but firm as a boss. something that was truly admired by many of us. Chuck, you will be missed by all the lives that you have touched.
