Rae Burell Obituary
Rae Anita Belzung Burell, age 85, of Castroville, passed away Dec. 17, 2012 in Castroville. She was born July 23, 1927 in Bexar County, to the late Edwin E. Belzung and Henrietta Bormann Belzung. On Nov. 25, 1947 she married Robert "Ratsy" Burell. Early in her life she worked as a switchboard operator for the Medina-San Geronimo Telephone Co. until the company was purchased by Southwestern Bell. From 1960 to 1987 she was the bookkeeper for Castroville Animal Hospital. Rae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Royce Belzung; sister, Chloris Varga and niece, Dr. Cathy Sauri. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Louis Garden Mausoleum. Memorials may be given in her memory to the Braden Keller Building Fund, c/o St. Louis Catholic Church.
