Charlie Ray "Ricky/Sat" Jones

Charlie Ray (Ricky/Sat) Jones, passed peacefully from this side of life in Houston, Texas March 19, 2019 to his eternal home to be at rest. He was born October 26, 1953 in Cleveland, Texas to the late Dennis and Doris Jones. Charlie was the oldest of five children. Charlie grew up in Cleveland, Texas. After graduating from Cleveland High School; he then attended Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas. While in college, he obtained a degree in drafting and pledged to alpha phi omega fraternity, where he was known as Frat Brothers Satisfaction. In 2004, he married Judith Fuller. This union created a combined family with 3 children, Ricky E. Jones, Andre Fuller and Rhoda Fuller. Charlie enjoyed many interests in his lifetime which included fishing. He never caught any fish in spite of his love for fishing. That could be because he didn't take a fishing rod. He really loved being outside hanging with his friends and family. He was a very personable man. He never met a person that he didn't like and everyone who met him loved him. After Charlie and Judy moved into their home he was quickly embraced by the neighborhood. The neighbors would drop by in a welcome fashion any time the garage door was open and with such regularity that it became known as the "BOOM, BOOM ROOM". The transformed garage was a safe and welcoming place for neighbors and friends to come and hang out for hours on end. The people who frequently stopped by became more than friends. They were a social club, the neighborhood watch, a family of sorts. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Judith (Judy); two sisters, Pam Porter and April (Earl) Brown; two brothers, Patrick and Reverend Charles Jones; two sons, Ricky E. Jones and Andre Fuller; one daughter, Rhoda Fuller. Charlie was a very loving father figure to many other children. He will be truly missed by his five grandchildren that loved calling him, "Pop!" especially Noah, Sheridan and R.J. He is also survived by a host of relatives including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends. There will be a celebration of life service on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081. Officiating ~ Minister Katie Williams of Galilee Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Repast 3:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Home of the Late Charlie and Judy Jones, 8118 Furlong Lane Houston, Texas 77071. Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
