Mr. Charlie Curtis McCormick, son of Mr. Chalmers McCormick and Mrs. Elizabeth McLeod McCormick, was born May 21, 1949 in Dillon County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, SC. "Curtis" or "Ace of Diamond," as he was lovingly called by family and friends attended the public schools of Florence County. He was the owner and operator of McCormick Drywall and was a Certified Bail Bondsman. At an early age, Curtis attended Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Latta, SC. Recently, he was attending New Spring Church of Florence, SC. Curtis was an avid sports fan of the Washington Redskins and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He was also a member of the Toby Creek Two Hunting Club. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen McCormick and Joann McCormick, both of Florence, SC. Left to cherish his precious memories are: his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie Scott McCormick of the home; three sons, Charlie Curtis Banks of Florence, SC, Rodney (Norelis) Scott of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Ryan (Sarah) Scott of Honolulu, HI; ten grandchildren, Davion Keith, Raheem and Rashad Richardson, of Florence, SC, Yamelis and Luis Rodriguez, and Tatihanna Scott of Sierra Vista, AZ, Tyrell and Tyler Scott of Killeen, TX, and Miah and Alexa Scott of Honolulu, HI; three sisters, Joyce McCormick, Hazel Mouzon, and Lisa (Will) Smith, all of Florence, SC; four brothers, Levern McCormick, Leon (Lynn) McCormick, John Calvin McCormick, and Danny McCormick, all of Florence, SC; two aunts, Bernice McLeod of Detroit, MI and Betty Doris McLeod of Latta, SC; two uncles, Walter (Alice) McLeod of Columbia, SC and Bill Bethea of Latta, SC; special nieces, Latalia McCormick, Latoya McCormick, Jessica (Antiwan) House, Lacie Jones, and Amberlee Scott; special nephews, Tyres Smith, Xavion Green, and Reverend Henry Scott, Jr.; god daughters, Erica Washington, Charnessa Johnson, and Aquilla Samuel; godson, Rufus Banks; special cousins, Elijah Blue, Dorothy Myers, and Patricia Wright; special friends, Bernard (Iris) Samuel and Monroe White; sister-in-law, Cathy Godbolt; brothers-in-law, Tommy Scott, Lacy (Lillie Mae) Scott, Ernest (Wilma) Scott, Henry (Kim) Scott, Gordon (Alfreda) Scott, Wayne Scott, Tron (Deborah) Scott, Travis (Tina) Scott, and Robert Mouzon; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
