I remember my dad had shown me Charlie's songs since I was very young. One time on the radio I heard he was coming down to the Rio Grande. My parents surprised me with tickets and we decided to make a sign for him as the album I had on repeat was the Gold Times album. I remember hearing him sing and just enjoying myself, he was my first ever concert. After the concert my dad was talking to thr guitarist and asked if Charlie could sign my poster as I was a huge fan. I was able to get my poster signed and till this day I still have it. My dad recently passed away a few years ago and his songs are something that I remember him by. Thank you Charlie for the wonderful music that you created, I really enjoy listening to it.

My name is Mike and I´m a fellow South Texan. Have followed your music for over 20 years and recall when you lived in Olmos Park in San Antonio. I watched your son play ball for Alamo Heights. He, too, could run "just like the wind." I couldn´t drive through Bandera without thinking about your homage to that town. You will be remembered. You will be missed.

I was a huge fan of Charlie and had the honor of seeing him perform at Floores Country Store and Gruene Hall not to mention Cowboys dance hall several times. I loved his music and storytelling. I would take his cds to listen to when we went camping with the kids at Garner State Park and we would listen by the campfire late into the night. I always wondered if I would run into him on my many trips to Bandera but no such luck. I cant describe how heartbroken I was hearing that he had passed. There will never be another Charlie Robison. His live shows never disappointed.
RIP Charlie
We will truly miss you and your music.

At 42 for some reason I picked up a guitar again and needed THAT SONG to get me playing. It was Charlie and Sunset Boulevard.
I now play small gigs and theater shows after 10+ years due to daily playing. All because of Charlie.
Thanks Charlie for everything.
Condolences to the entire Robison clan.

I met Charlie back in the late 1980s when he was playing with Ricky in Two Hoots and Jeff in Chaparral and they were regulars at the Black Cat, my nightly hang out. While we never became real friends, we were part of the same circles and his music and his presence were a part of my early years in Austin. Since learning of his death I have found myself profoundly sad over the loss of someone I didn't know well but who was part of the fabric of those happy days. Listening to his music this week his voice has taken me back and I will always think of him with a smile.

I remember a night at Gruene Hall, Charlie had all 3 kids with him. In the middle of the show Gus came on stage and asked for the keys to the bus. Charlie´s comment was priceless. Even my own kid can´t stand me singing anymore. He was so unique. So thankful I got to see him one last time Nov `22 in Seguin. My heart goes out to his children and family. He made so many people happy. I´m sure we will see him around in his new hometown.

I love Charlie´s music. He´s the reason that I started listening to Texas Red Dirt Country. He and Robert Earl Keen are my absolute favorite singers of all time, but Charlie just takes the top seed for me. I went from hard core heavy metal to Charlie´s music and I never looked back. I only got to see him live once and I will forever be grateful that I got that opportunity. I love that he incorporated a lot of Mexican flare like in songs such as "The Girls From Texas". He was my drinking buddy, albeit through his music, but nevertheless I finished many a twelve pack listening to his legendary music. I will forever keep his memory alive in my house where his music will play loud and proud. Cheers to you Charlie Robison! Give `Em hell in Heaven.
