Charlie "Bud" Strike

MARIETTA, Ga. — Mr. Charlie “Bud” Strike, age 83, of Marietta, Ga., died Monday, January 28, 2008.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Hiram with the Rev. Earl Schafer officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.Mr. Strike was born and baptized in Welch in 1924. He lived in East Point, Ga., for 27 years before moving to Marietta in 1986. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II from 1942-1946.Mr. Strike worked for Delta Airlines for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was active in many organizations through the years, including serving as President of the National Railway Historical Society and the Railway Museum in Duluth, Ga.
