NEW YORK (AP) — Pierce Brosnan's daughter has died from ovarian cancer, his publicist confirms.
Charlotte was 41 years old when she passed away in London on June 28, after battling the disease for three years.
Brosnan's first wife Cassandra Harris, Charlotte's mother, also died from ovarian cancer in 1991. Harris' mother died from the disease as well.
People.com was first to report the story. In a statement to People, Brosnan said his daughter "fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity." He went on to say "we pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon."
Charlotte is survived by a husband, Alex Smith, 14-year-old daughter, Isabella, and 8-year old son, Lucas.

Charlotte was an amazing woman that definitely lit up a room. I was a bartender in Branson,MO at the Chateau on the Lake resort and had met Charlotte, her husband, and their beautiful children. I had the privilege of having many conversations with them during their stay. Somehow it came up who her dad was and she like the fact I enjoyed “Grandpa Pierces” movies(as her daughter sat in her lap). Charlotte told me about her cancer and she was very nervous about it. She showed me pictures of their family vacations and really opened up. There’s no doubt Charlotte is not just an angel in heaven she was also one while she was here on earth. Most people would say she was lucky to have a dad like Pierce but I would say Pierce was lucky to have a daughter like Charlotte. It was a privilege to have met Charlotte and I will always cherish those memories of our conversations. I wish her entire family peace and love during what may seem like a never ending void that only Charlotte’s spirit could fill. -Christopher Barretto
