Charlotte Janette Ewing, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2015, at her daughter's home in Redmond. She was 94.A celebration of life will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, 172 N.E. 32nd Ave., Hillsboro.Charlotte was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Canon City, Colo., to Francis and Viola (Anderson) Keith. She attended Texas State College for Women (now Texas Women's University) and graduated in 1949 with a Master's degree in Business Administration and Economics. In 1965, she received a Doctorate in Business Administration and Economics from UCLA.During World War II, she worked as a clerk and secretary at Lowry Field in Denver. After which time, she spent much of her career as an educator on the collegiate level, working at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, Howard County Junior College in Big Spring, Texas, Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, UCLA in Los Angeles, Sentous Adult School in Los Angeles and Pacific University in Forest Grove. She also taught at Forest Grove High School, Store Front School in Forest Grove for programmed instruction for graduation and Guildford Middle School in Guildford, England (Fulbright Exchange (1980-81).She enjoyed traveling and prided herself on visiting every state in the United States, traveling internationally and cruising. She also enjoyed camping with family and friends, playing bridge, pinochle, hands and feet card game, all kinds of board games, reading, TV game shows and hosting dinner parties for friends, family and newcomers.Charlotte was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, attending the First Presbyterian Church in Canon City, as a baby and then Hillsboro Presbyterian Church until she moved to Redmond in January 2015. She was also a member of the church choir in several churches.She was a lifelong member of PEO International and Delta Kappa Gamma.She is survived by her daughters, Regina Ewing of Honolulu and Lesli Ewing (husband, Ron) Warner of Redmond; grandsons, Nathan (fiancée, Kate) and Scott Warner; granddaughters, Janelle (husband, Lance) Jewett, Darlene Stewart and Donna (husband, James) Rogers; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Cora (husband, Kevin), Courtney, Michael, Heather, Lyshele, Sandi, Jymee (husband, Carl), Ian and Makaila; and great-great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Josy, Phoenix and Tristan.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie A.
