Services for Charlotte E. Gentry, 84, of Lindale, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. James Cheatham and the Rev. Ike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gentry passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, in Lindale.

She was born on July 23, 1925, in Tenaha to the late Raymond P. and Charlotte J. Fincher Whittlesey, the youngest of eight children. She has lived in the Tyler area most of her life and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was employed as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and later as a cafeteria worker for TISD, first at Douglas Elementary and later at Robert E. Lee High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Gentry in 2007, and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Ann Cooley of Lindale and Charles Steven Gentry of Van; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jake Gentry, Joey Gentry, J.T. Cooley, Todd Cooley, Tony Cooley and Johnny Cooley.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1402 Rice Road, Tyler, 75703.
