Richard Glen Shaver, age 74, of Pass Christian, passed away on February 4, 2008 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn C. Shaver and Georgia Shaver; and his brother, Rex D. Shaver.
Mr. Shaver is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Shaver of Pass Christian; his children, James Shaver and Donna Mullis, both of North Carolina, and Lynda Hancock and her husband, Scott, of Pass Christian; a brother, Thomas W. Shaver and his wife, Betty, of Maryland; and four grandchildren, Ashley Shaver, Hannah Hancock, Eric Mullis, and Bryce Hancock.
Born in Boise, Idaho, Mr. Shaver retired from the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office in 1988 after 37 years. He enjoyed serving as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Pass Christian during his retirement.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, where friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
