The members of the Kinston-Lenoir County Alumni Chapter of Elizabeth City State University National Alumni Association, Inc. are deeply sadden by the passing of an outstanding lady, educator, alumnus, and friend. Mrs. Johnson remained a staunch supporter of Elizabeth City State University and our local alumni chapter until her death. We extend our most sincere expression of sympathy to her family and friends. Viking Johnson was truly a role model for each of us.
Sincerely,
Maxine Cooper, President

Extending thoughts and prayers to the family. I fondly remember Mrs. Johnson during her teaching career at Moss Hill Elementary (MHS)as an attending student. Then, a few years back, it was my pleasure to see Mrs. Johnson again at the dedication of the new addition to MHS. Mrs. Johnson and I spoke at length that day. As an adult I realized that Mrs. Johnson was truly an inspirational lady! It is my prayer that God wrap his loving arms around the family giving only the peace and comfort that He can bestow.

My condolences to the family of Mrs. Johnson , my second grade teacher at Moss Hill Rlementary. My mother, Grace Barwick and I send our love to your family. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Mrs. Johnson in many years, but I remember her fondly as my favorite childhood teacher. She was a lovely lady and a role model for me. I wish you all comfort and wonderful memories in your time of loss. My best regards.

I have lost a true friend. She could always brighten my day & have me smileing & laughing before she left my office. I will miss her so. She is in a better place now. My prayers go out to her family. I would like them to know that she touched my heart when I first met her 17yrs ago. I felt as if she was my friend ever since. I have not been able to see her much over the last year but thoughts & prayers have been with her. Michelle Batts
