Charlotte V. McCaughin

BRICK, N.J. — Charlotte V. (Pendell) McCaughin, 89, of Brick, N.J., died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Sunnyside Manor in Wall Twp., N.J.

She was born in Clemens, N.Y., and lived in Ticonderoga, N.Y., South Braintree, Mass., Weymouth, and Yarmouthport, before moving to Brick in 2007. Mrs. McCaughin was a homemaker. She was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Weymouth and Sacred Heart Church in Yarmouthport.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Cardinal James McCaughin in 2007, and by her son, Joseph V. in 2000. She is survived by a son, David J. and his wife, Janet, of Quincy, Mass.; two daughters, Nancy M. Jackson and her husband, John of Brick, and Patricia A. Sims and her husband, Lodge of Encinitas, Calif.; a brother, Daniel Pendell of Morningdale, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Margaret, Michael, Thomas, David, Aaron, Devin, Daniel, Breanne, and Trevor; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment is private. O'Brien Funeral Home in Brick is in charge of arrangements.
