I can not express the pain l feel over this young deputy's senseless loss. I worked for Spalding EMS for many years. I feel the pain every time a fellow officer, EMS worker, or firefighter passes...My thoughts are with his wife, children, and family... We are by your side and do anything you need us to, so you will be ok eventually.... I am so sorry for you loss. .words cannot express the pain we, as fellow officers feel....but nothing compares to the pain you experience...my hope is that we can ease it somewhat... And hope for you, your children's, and family's recovery from this tragedy. You are not alone.. we are here for you....

He should be at home celebrating the birth of his second son with his family instead of his family at his funeral. I keep thinking he should not be dead over something so senseless. Sometimes life just does not make sense and that is the case here. RIP Officer Maddox and may your family find the peace and comfort they deserve. Thank you for your service to your country and community.

My thoughts and prayers are with his beautiful family. After viewing the photos in the gallery it seems everyone needs an Officer Chase Maddox in their lives. The world would be a better place. The wedding photos are beautiful and his goofy goofing off photos are enough to make the most depressed person laugh and smile. I know you all are being thought of here in the Tampa Bay area through out this tragedy

It is such a beautiful thing when you see a young person willing to serve to protect and assure our communities are safe and knowing their lives are on the line, they choose to honorably serve. Chase Maddox was one of those men! One of the most honorable men Ive ever known of. He had a goal and kept it to the end. His love for life, wife and family...there are no words, but as my heart aches for his precious wife and family, I pray they are loved on and cared for by the community and the are comforted by The Lord Jesus Christ in their lives. Your in our prayers dear. Love and Blessings to your wife, family, friends and Community Officer Chase Maddox ♥

As a Civic teacher, I want my students to become Law Abiding citizens of their communities, country, and citizens of humanity. Chase achieved and embodied the dream I have for my students. I will never forget the day after Spring Break, he insisted on telling me everything that happened, the green and gold shorts, the prom shirt, and the love he had for Sammy. Once I realized Sammy was not a girl. The high light of the semester! I am so proud to have known you and had the privilege to have taught you.

To Officer Maddox's family:
" When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."
I honestly did not know what else to say during this senseless and tragic event. I am sending my thoughts, prayers and sympathy to Chase's family and friends.
May God help all of us during the healing process; and give us the strength to accept this.
