My late husband and Brian Monks coached an Under-12 soccer team together, and we met Chase and Brad. Chase was only 9 but "playing up" to be on the same team as his brother Brad. I hadn't seen the Monks brothers in many years, but they both made a tremendous impression. I remember them as sparkling, happy boys, running the length of the soccer field, laughing and whooping with excitement over a goal scored. And sitting around a late-night circle of boys at a sleepover party. I went back and looked at the soccer team picture from so many years ago and cried at the loss. Brian and Debbie, know that you are in our family's hearts and prayers.

I met Chase in Mrs. Hunnicutt's 4th grade class at Barton Creek Elementary along with a lot of cool other kids ( I think that was in 1994). There was something extra special that Chase always gleamed through others. He had a particular personality that just with one smile his warm gaze with his warm charming eyes (and cute little dimples) he could change a bad day into a pretty good one for you.
I think the last time I saw Chase was in middle school. It’s remarkable how someone you rarely talked to can leave such a grand impression in one’s life. I was able to catch up on facebook with him, after a while not seeing him I could still see that charisma he shined and always will.
Warm words I can share towards his family, girlfriend, and close loved ones is something you already know but nice to perceive, Chase is everywhere you imagine and feel him, which is something so precious that God leaves with us from what he takes along with Him. God lets us sense the presence of those we no longer see which is something so beautiful.
Peace,
Marian Gabriela Johnston

Doctor Monks, Debra & children;
Even though I never met Chase, I know how much you all loved him through Dr. Monks. There are certainly no words that can ever take away the pain that you all are feeling and going through right now. My heart grieves so for each one of you and I pray that God will reach down and put His loving arms around you and drawn you in and comfort each of you. I lost a brother to a car accident and know how hard of a road it is to travel after the tragedy. I offer you my sincere condolence and deepest sympathy as well as my prayers for God to comfort you all. In Him.

Dear Monks Family,

I cannot explain how sorry I am for your loss. Chase was my classmate at St. Michael's Academy Class of '02. He was always such a kind person to everyone and me. I have kept your family as well as Chase in my prayers. I pray that you all stay strong, and celebrate all the great moments in Chase's life. My favorite moment, him playing the Star Spangled Banner at a Pep Rally at St. Michael's on his guitar. Gives Jimi Hendrix a run for his money. I know you are all a strong family that will get through this difficult moment. God Bless.

Dear Brian and Debbie,

Although we never got to meet your son Chase, we feel your pain. Brian, you delivered my little Stephanie on Bradley's birthday in 2005, and every year we celebrate her birthday, I think about you and your loss. Now you have lost another son so young, and it just doesn't seem fair. Just remember that Chase and Bradley are together again and looking down upon your family with smiles. God Bless You in your time of sorrow.

God needed another 2 angels for his heavenly band. Bradley and Chase played together, rode together and died together. They enjoyed their music and now God will. Their lives were cut so short and they will be greatly missed. We want both families to know that our prayers are with you in this time of your great loss and we pray for something to fill that empty hole in your hearts. You both will be missed at family gatherings but the music you made will live on.

Dearest Brian, Debbie & Family;
While the loss of a loved one is never easy, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. Your recent loss of your son who has left us at such a youthful age is certainly in the category of those hard losses for which there is so painful a reminder of what might have been.
I offer my sincere condolence and deepest sympathy on your loss. May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers and the comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by many, help you through this difficult time.
I ask for God's blessings on you and your wonderful family. May you find the courage and strength to move forward in peace and confidence and in knowing that his was a life well-lived.
Yours In Peace,
