Cheryl Cash Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2025.
Cheryl Ann Cash (Briner), 81, peacefully passed away on September 22, 2025 and is now joyfully reunited with her husband, Bill, who preceded her in death last year. Cheryl was born on August 3, 1944 in East St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents were John Harold and Ann Briner.

A year after her graduation from Brazil High School in 1962, Cheryl and Bill were married and with grit and determination built a life together while raising four children. Cheryl was a creative and curious person who over her lifetime enjoyed reading, traveling, crafting and spending time with dear friends, many whom she'd known since her school days. Cheryl's work life was varied, beginning with pitching in at her family's restaurant as a teenager, and later working at the Clay County Court House and compiling the yellow pages at MR Lynch in Knightsville. Later in life she was especially honored to serve her community as a lay minister with the United Methodist Church. Cheryl was a skilled and passionate lay speaker and was a faithful follower of God throughout her life. We are all comforted knowing she is at peace with Him.

Cheryl is survived by sons James David Cash (Rebecca) and Jacob Christopher Cash (Sarah), daughter Hettie Cash Hueber (Darrick), grandchildren Heather (Sam) Schetter, Kiri Cash, Robert (Kelsey) Switzer, Will Cash, Noah Cash, Ray Cash, Jillian Cash, Ruby Hueber, Cora Hueber, Eli Cash, and Caleb Cash, and great-grandchildren Maddie Schetter, Zane Schetter, Alice Cash, Gabriel Wright and Torie Wright.

In addition to her beloved husband, Cheryl was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sandra Todd, her son William Briner Cash, and granddaughter Cheryl Wright.

Private services will be held at a later date.
