Cheryl Jensen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 1, 2011.
Cheryl Suzanne Jensen, beloved wife, mother, and daughter passed away on June 25, 2011 while on vacation with her family in the Bahamas. She was born in Dallas, Texas on October 2, 1958.

Cheryl attended Bryan Adams High School in Dallas and graduated in 1981 from Texas A&M University with a major in Accounting. She then worked for Exxon becoming a specialist in gas accounting. While at Exxon she met her future husband, David. They were married in May, 1988. After the birth of their first son in 1993, Cheryl dedicated herself to her family. Until her untimely death, the endless love and devotion she gave to her sons and husband allowed them all to flourish. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and family vacations -- especially traveling to the Texas Hill Country (Canyon Lake and the Blanco River) and the Pacific Northwest.

Cheryl is survived by her husband David; two sons, Michael and Mark; her mother Mary Jane Cobb; and her brother Steve Cobb. She was preceded in death by her father Robert S. Cobb.
Cheryl will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, compassionate, generous and loving woman who was tireless and passionate in supporting her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and they will always cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77380. A private graveside will be held in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 (http://www.lls.org) or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.

We had a friendship that lasted through Jr. High, High School, College and beyond. I will always treasure the time we had. As so many friends came and went through the years, Cheryl was always there. Cheryl you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

My sincere condolences to David, Michael and Mark, and the rest of the family. As a one-time colleague at Exxon, Cheryl was hardworking, kind and generous in spirit. Special people will always be missed, and Cheryl will be missed. You are in my prayers.

I have so many fond memories of Cheryl with us growing up going to Casa Linda United Methodist Church together and attending high school together....many sleep overs at each others homes. Cheryl, I will miss you dearly. To Cheryl's family, you are in my prayers.
