Cheryl Lindgren Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2024.
November 10, 1948 - March 8, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah

Born to: Norman Harry Lindgren and Helen Nancy Gehrke Lindgren

Cheryl loved nature. She adored feeding all the animals that were lucky enough to find her yard-birds, squirrels, deer, raccoons, skunks, and even a few porcupines. The best times in her life were spent riding horses with her best friend, Nancy. She was a social butterfly in her neighborhood, knew every dog by name, and supplied them with treats. Cheryl was a stargazer. She always looked skyward and enjoyed watching the jets fly by and the storms that rolled in. She adored gardening, music, and onion rings from Crown Burger. Her loyalty was unwavering. She never missed one of her son's sports games. She was passionate about politics and enjoyed keeping up with the news. She was proud of her 10+ years of sobriety! She spent her career working at Smith's Food King as a cashier, and she retired with 40+ years of service. Once retired, she spent much of her time with her granddaughter, Zayla. They loved their frequent trips to Hogle Zoo and Lagoon.

She is survived by her father (who joined her 16 days later), daughter Talya Lindgren Cameron (Bradley Cameron), and son Eric Norman Lindgren. Her brothers Steven (Chris Cowley Lindgren), Kerry, and Mark, and three grandchildren, Lindzee Cameron, Ian Cameron, and Zayla Lindgren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Gehrke Lindgren, and her sister-in-law, Lisa Wade Lindgren.

Loving and loyal. I have so much gratitude for my mom. She was ALWAYS there when I needed her, even when she should have kicked to the curb. Cheryl was fiercely loyal and loving (don´t tell anyone that, my mom would be mad

I was born. She was 4. Soon she would become my big sister. Her mother and father would become a great part of my raising. They would
become.....my sanest parents. No matter the distance. Our common German Grandmother.....was our greatest asset. We were the best of friends when she was 16... her ballet at Kingsbury Hall...next to star. I was the lead actress.....of my grammar school. He had her first great love. I looked forward to it. I was a good pupil.

I grew up admiring her free spirit! Thanks for introducing me to "Hair", "Shaft", "Bless the beasts and the children", hippie clothes, feeding racoons, loving all animals, living free and so much more. I wanted to be just like my cousin Cheryl. I will miss her laugh. Thanks for being more of a big sister than a cousin. I love you. GOD SPEED!
