Cheryl MASON Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Aug. 31, 2017.
MASON, Cheryl Elizabeth (nee Smith)
April 14, 1956 - July 31, 2017
On July 31, 2017, we said goodbye to our amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend Cheryl after a short yet courageous and private battle with cancer. Her kindness, smile, laughter, love and friendship will be treasured and remembered by all. Cheryl was always up for a delicious meal with those she loved, travelling the world, spending time with friends and living life to the fullest with her dancing shoes on. She was immensely proud of her kids' and her granddaughters' accomplishments. She would also want us to remember the laughter and love. She leaves behind sons Ryan (Carmen) and Scott (Erin), granddaughters Taylor and Rylee, dad Bob (Carolyn), family, many friends and long time co-workers. A private service will be held on September 1, 2017 with reception to follow at 8 p.m. at Newlands Bar and Grill 21025 48 Ave, Langley, BC. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to be made in Cheryl's name to Langley Hospice. "She was one of the rare ones, so effortlessly herself, and the world loved her for it." – Atticus Finch.

On this first day back to school, I received the sad news of Cheryl's passing. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. Cheryl was such a giving and dedicated person to all she served in the Langley School District. I am proud to have known her. Such a loss to this world and the many who knew and loved her. GOD BLESS your wonderful spirit, Donna.

So sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. My heart goes out to her family. I knew Cheryl through the Langley School District, we belonged to the same Union. I will always remember her compassion and drive to fight for what she believed in. And I will never forget her laughter and love of sharing stories..."I am but a heartbeat away."

To my mother in law, my spirit, my heart - it's been 4 weeks and I can not believe it yet - I am broken and every day I miss you more, not less. I just wish we had more time with you xx You were one of my best friends, Taylor and I were so blessed to have found you and Ryan and both my girls were blessed with an amazing, caring and kind g-ma!

I do not have enough words ... you are everything the obituary says and more xxx
