I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear today 8/15/13 of Cheryl's passing. She was a wonderful caring person. She would always tell me she was praying for my husband (who passed away 7/26/13). My love and prayers go out to her husband and family. Her sweet presence will be missed at the Mt. Washington post office.

I am not sure I can say anything more then what has already been said about Cheryl. She was indeed one of the most wonderful people I have ever encountered in my life and that is alot of folks. It will never be the same when I enter the Post Office in Mt. Washington, her smile and ever faithful greeting as you came in and when you left, made you feel not like a customer, but like a family member. She will be missed by many, but her memory lives on in all the kindness and love she leaves behind. Rest in Peace dear Cheryl in the hands of our Lord, and tell Shawn I said hello. To the family, please accept my sincerest sympathy on her passing.

To Cheryl's Husband, Family & Friends:
I'm so sorry for your loss. Cheryl and I grew up together in Beltzhoover and attended elementary through high school together. She always had a smile on her face and could make me laugh. Though we grew up, I moved away and lost touch, Cheryl would still ask my Dad how I was doing when he's stop at the post office. When we lost our father in Sept. 2011, Cheryl reached out to my and my family via Facebook with these words of encouragement which I'll now share with you.
"Yes it was me. :) At first I didn't recognize him but I notice his name n of course his address. I remember him so clearly becuz he reminded me of my own dad who passed away in June, 2007. Kinda brought a tear to my eye. I empathize with u n ur fam bc I too have loss both of my parents n gram. My Mom passed in '03. Its the hardest thing to embrace but u must except what God allows. Don't rush the grieving process. Take the time u need. Just allow urself time to heal. Talk about it as much as u want. If they stop listening. Text or inbox me. I'll listen! Because I understand! Praying for u! "
Heaven was missing an Angel and now God has called Cheryl home to be with him. She will definitely be missed. You are all in my prayers!

Cheryl was ALWAYS an encouragement to me and my family. I went to the Post Office weekly and we always talked about the Lord and how He is so good. She remembered my kids names despite only seeing them once in awhile. She also was a great encouragement to me as we started a church on Shiloh street, having started a church herself. I will miss her greatly but I know that I'll see her again because our Redeemer lives and she is praising Him FOREVER IN GLORY NOW!!!

Those who live with merry hearts giving countless smiles and years of laughter, are very hard to say “fare-well” to. I remember the abundance of outrageous humor that Cheryl gave to all of us, growing up together in Greater Pittsburgh Deliverance Center. She was someone who cared deeply about those she loved, and touched all of our lives with tender hands.
Walking in the shadow of death is never easy. But from personal experience I can share that there are arms strong enough to carry you, comfort you, hold you and bring you thru this darkness, back into the sunlight again. Those are the everlasting arms of the Lord Jesus, and they are beneath you, now.
Our loved ones seem to tiptoe into our lives softly. But when they fall into Eternal Sleep, their voices and the impact of their footfall leave sounds and imprints in our hearts that we can never forget.
I am heartbroken to hear that Cheryl has gone to sleep so soon, and I am interceding before the Father, on your behalf.
Thinking and praying for you all daily....

I enjoyed talking to Cheryl everytime I went into the Post Office. In the last few months, she was so kind to help me with direction of locating some of the classmates of South Hills High School Class of 1978 for our reunion. Not one time, in the years at the branch she did not have a beautiful smile when you approached her. She will be missed terribly. She was called to be an Angel. If only words could give you the comfort at this time of loss, I could say the right ones.
