Chester "Chet" Crump

Chester "Chet" W. Crump, 79 passed away June 23, 2020. He was a resident of Indianapolis after living 43 years in Muncie. He was born December 4, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Chester and Mary (Quick) Crump. He married the love of his life, Carolyn L. Darland on June 21, 1968. He is survived by his son, Matthew W. Crump (Amy) of Cortland, NY, his daughter, Stephanie G. Brake (Robert) of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren Stephen, Sydney and Sarah Brake of Indianapolis, IN, Kayla and Kyler Crump of Cortland, NY. Chet loved God's word and spent many years studying it. He attended Lincoln Christian College and earned a B.A. from Milligan College (1963). He received a Bachelor of Divinity from Southern Baptist University (1967). He graduated from Christian Theological Seminary at Butler with a M.A. (1969). In 1984, he earned a M.A. in Counseling from Ball State University. Chet studied and taught Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. He enjoyed singing in Southern Gospel Quartets wherever he lived, preached or attended a church. From his early years at Tech High School, Chet (K9ADJ) was involved in ham radio. Chet will be missed by all who knew him. He was a man after God's own heart. Services for Chet Crump will be Monday, June 29 at 1:00 PM at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory – Franklin Township Chape with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service.
