Chester Hileman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 22, 2025.
Chester Sr Hileman, 78, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Oley, Pennsylvania. Born on March 28, 1947, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he lived a life marked by service, dedication, and quiet joys.

Chester proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1971, completing two tours in Vietnam. His years of military service were a defining chapter in his life and reflected his deep sense of duty and resilience.

Following his military service, Chester pursued higher education at Mount Aloysius College and later completed anesthesia training at Reading Hospital. His commitment to learning and professional development underscored his determination to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others.

Chester found joy in simple pleasures-fishing and walking his dogs brought him peace and contentment throughout the years. These quiet moments reflected the steady presence he offered to those around him.

He is survived by his wife Denise; sons Chester Jr and Christopher; brothers Joel and Alan; and sisters Deborah, Bonnie, and Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents Lois and Willard Dean, as well as brothers Ronald, Dennis, Larry, and Gary.

Donations in Chester's memory to the Purple Heart organization would be a meaningful tribute that would have made him very proud.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

The only negative thing I can say is that he didn´t like my chili.

Chet was a wonderful father, father-in-law and PapPap. We looked forward to his visits to Houston and I am so thankful that he was always so eager to play with Anthony and Natalie. Chet was very patient; playing numerous games of Candyland, cards and answering lots of questions from very inquisitive kids! We will treasure our memories with him.
