Christian Bennett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 29, 2025.
Christian Edward Bennett passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 30.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, on March 5, 1994, Christian was the beloved son of Kathleen McGowan Bennett and the late David Patrick Laden. He grew up in Meriden, Connecticut, where he made lasting friendships and touched the hearts of many. As a child, Christian was known for his sweetness, caring nature, and love for his family. He had a special bond with animals and grew up with many pets. Christian enjoyed drawing, playing outside, watching horror movies, and participating in Little League baseball.

As he grew older, Christian became an incredible friend to many, earning the nickname "Chubsz," which stuck with him throughout his life. His mother often joked that going out with him was like being with a celebrity. Christian's charisma and genuine spirit made him loved by all, and he went out of his way to make others feel special and appreciated.

On March 1, 2013, Christian began a loving relationship with Olivia Cooley of Meriden, Connecticut, and together they created countless joyful memories.

Throughout his life, Christian remained fiercely loyal, kind-hearted, and generous. Those who knew him could count on a lifelong friend in Christian. He had a unique ability to spread positivity, humor, and love wherever he went.

Although his time with us was tragically short, Christian's light continues to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Christian was predeceased by his father, David Patrick Laden of New Haven, and his best friend, Jeffrey Scott Gdovin of Meriden. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen McGowan Bennett of East Hampton; his siblings, Richard Alan Bennett and his wife, Kayla, of Wallingford, Kathleen Bennett Lavoie and her husband, Chris, of Southington, and Ashley Laden of East Haven; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Christian will be forever missed by his partner Olivia, their pets Maggie, Scout, and Pepper, and by Olivia's family, who loved him as their own.

A memorial service will be held in Christian's honor at First United Methodist Church at 159 E Main St. Meriden, CT 06450 Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend.

Christian was such a sweet, respectful man. I had only known him a short amount of time but, he´s definitely someone I´ll always remember. He always gave off loving energy and would always have a positive outlook on things. Christian will be missed by many!

My mom was there when Christian was born, I was young but all I can remember is that she said him being born was the most beautiful thing she ever experienced. Being on the other side and watching him take his first breath. He was a lil chunky baby. As we grew up he was always so sweet and kind. We are cousins so the family gathering were always the best. He will always be loved and missed! Amy
