Dottie Dukes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2018.
Dec. 12, 1942 - July 16, 2018 Vacaville Dorothy "Dottie" Dukes, 75, saw Jesus face-to-face on July 16. Faithful to her beloved God, family, and friends until the end. Dottie was born to the late Raymond and Dorothy Matthews, on Dec. 12, 1942. Raised in San Francisco, in her own words she is the "original San Francisco fog flower". Dottie grew up on Shotwell Street in the Mission District. Here life would forge within her a love and acceptance of all people. Dottie was blessed with four children, Ron, Phillip, Jason, and Laura. Through the years she never lost sight of what was true, and fervently prayed all four children into the house of God. She loved her children so well they each felt they were her favorite. Today her legacy continues in the next generation through her grandchildren, Taelor, Greta, Emma, Billy, and Clayton Hausler, along with Aries, Khalil, Zyanne, and Noah Gresham, as well as Sheila Lee Fry. Dottie, or "Dottie Dangerous", as some called her, was known for her loving spirit, acceptance of everyone, and her faith in God to heal and restore brokenness. Dot has a long resume of people she has prayed for and declared over whose lives have been restored simply because they encountered her in Starbucks or the WalMart checkout line. Dottie never withheld the love of God from a single soul. Dorothy Rae Dukes ran her race well. Up until her last moment she declared the love and faithfulness of God. She leaves us all with the challenge to go and do likewise. Trust and love God and share that trust and love with others.

Dottie I love you in case I never said it to you recently.
Ronnie and I were texting while u guys were in hospital and he told me u passed out silly dottie. So we're texting next thing he says u passed away. I said why is he sending me a duplicate text he told me she passed out... "away" was more than likely a key board blunder. I call ed no answer called jen and Ron rang on other line we both started sobbing. Jen in shock as I delivered news then mom on jens line. I still can't believe it. You were just ALWAYS THERE. the painful sting of your absence has been a bit altered lol. As it was hurting you were gone my sister shed a new light bless her heart dottie you probably couldn't be happier. Jens words showed me you probably wouldn't come back if they paid u. You did God's work and you went home to see your boss. The one you lived for. I see u laughing and smiling and dancing.mostly laughing and smiling. I miss your love. You always just loved me.
